Yom Hashoah
comes in on the heels of Pesach. If you are observant, you know what
a busy time this is. Not always thinking ahead, I neglected to
refresh the page assigned to me on the CMY web site. Please forgive
me.
As Pesach is
a picture given to us by G-d to represent deliverance and renewal,
Yom Hashoah is also representative of deliverance and to make us
remember. Zachor, Remember!!! Those who know us at CMY also know
that this is a somber time and we desire each year to acknowledge
and remember the Holocaust. So many lives were lost but so many
lives were also found. I think of our dear
Rose Price, a survivor, a believer, a proclaimer, a wonderful
witness.
Out of
something so horrific came beauty, came a rose. If we study and
research the Holocaust we see many "roses". Our Jewish people
strived to keep the Shabbat even in their meager lifestyles and
suffering. Candle wax was stored up, potato skins as well as as
eggshells were saved to make Shabbat candle holders.
Chanukah was also celebrated as well as as most of the Feasts. All
this might have been done in secret, that is from the Nazi's, but
G-d saw all! We are a gifted people and the Holocaust personifies
this. There were Yiddish plays and skits put on for the inmates,
quietly and covertly, to be ceased at the slightest sound of
soldiers approaching. Children were taught Torah by their parents,
aunts, uncles and neighbors. In fact if our people had been more
observant to fulfill G-d's desire in our lives to be a society of
order, a society of Torah, the consequences may not have been as
severe!
Through G-d
we are victorious. Our G-d promised us that the wicked will perish.
Through the perils of history, the Pharaoh's, the Haman's, the
Hitler's and all weapons and demonic forces that
Try to come against
us, we have prevailed. But not by our might but through our Savior,
Messiah Yeshua. Only through Him are we saved! As Israel is a
picture, as Pesach is a picture, as Yom Hashaoh is a picture, we are
also pictures. We are His pictures of many miracles, pictures of His
love and pictures of His grace and mercy. This is called being a
witness. This Yom Hashoah share with others and be the witness G-d
would have you be. Zachor!!!
