Passover or as we say, Pesach is upon us. Here are a few things you
might want to know. We begin to rid our homes of chometz, leaven
right after Purim. By the way our Purim celebration was
fantastic. We rid our homes by beginning to eat up our pasta
and bread items so by the time April 16th comes we are leaven
free.
Pesach
offers a beautiful menu of eggs, chicken, beef, fish and lots
of gorgeous vegetables.
We enjoy tunafish salad on
our matzoh or just sweet creamy butter, mmmmmgood! By noon of April
5 we should have eaten or given away the chometz in our homes.
On the evening of
April 5, 2004 at 6:00 PM we
gather together to rejoice in our freedom as Jews and believers. April
6 is a
"Shabbat" as well as the last day on Pesach, April 13.
Each and every day we should be ridding our spiritual lives of any chometz that is sin! We
unintentionally sin each day and we need to repent and rid ourselves
each day. Let us pray for and encourage one another in this most
wonderful season.

COUNTING
THE OMER: Sefirat HaOmer or Counting the
Omer begins on the first day of Pesach. This connects the festival of Pesach to Shavuot.
Pesach marks our physical liberation from Egypt and on Shavuot we received the Torah, our
spiritual liberation. If you attend CMY we will have "prayer notes" for each day
of the counting the Omer. Pray with us, unity in prayer is powerful!
