What a busy time
it has been! I enjoy and am blessed by the Fall Feasts but I am tired.
We held many services at CMY for Rosh Hashannah -
Yom Kippur - Sukkot - Hoshannah Rabbah - Simchat Torah and our regular Erev Shabbat and
Shabbat Day services and Havdallah Celebrations nestled in between.
No, we did not weary in well doing but we need some
rest. Thank You L-rd for this coming November...look at your calendar, there is not one
extra service. This means we can rest. But how do we do this? Go to a movie, watch
television? No we rest in HIM.
We now have the opportunity to begin our Bible
Study on Monday evenings, our Membership classes and our new series of HaYesod in
Cambridge.
Personal study time can
be extended, prayer times can be increased and my favorite past time, cooking. This is a
good time to catch up on making some great soups for the freezer so we can eat all winter!
A favorite soup of Rabbi Jack and
myself is this...just steam lots of vegetables from your frige, carrots, broccoli, kale,
parsnips, onions and more. Puree the vegetables in a blender with some cloves of garlic
and purified water and you have a great hearty soup. Freeze in baggies or individual
containers and pop in the microwave. Serve with a dollop of yogurt and some chopped
parsley (will absorb the garlic odor) on top and enjoy.
When we rest in Messiah Yeshua and sit at His feet,
read His Word and speak with Him we get fed as well. I hope you enjoy these two recipes as
much as I do! Shalom.
